Adhesive and sealants are commonly used along side our rubber sealing products in order to ensure that a seal is properly fit and does not leak in whichever compartment it is applied to.
Difference between Adhesive and Sealant
Adhesives and Sealants are commonly used along side sealing products, in order to ensure proper application please make sure that:
(1) Both surfaces to be bonded or seals are clean and free of dirt before application. (preferably with a suitable solvent)
(2) For adhesives, hold surfaces together for a few seconds to ensure that the substances has properly set.
(3) For sealants, ensure the sealant is even applied to the surface of the seal. Most sealants form a surface skin at 25 degrees centigrade and a humidity of 50% with higher temperatures and humidity accelerating the curing process and vice versa. Once a surface skin is formed it is not advisable to manipulate the surface skin any further.
